Effect of Recurrent Irrigation with Treated Sewage from Anaerobic Digester Coupled with Anaerobic Baffled Reactor on Soil Fertility

Growing recognition of treated wastewater as a resource is among the factors influencing its reuse in agriculture worldwide. Long-term effect irrigation with on soil widely reported; however, irrigated farming cycles sewage fertility rarely reported. In this study, greenhouse maize plot experiment, consisting triplicate plots and tap water was conducted for three consecutive cycles. Soil sampled analysis at depths 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm 40-60 after every cycle. After third cycle, pH organic matter content increased significantly (P≤0.05) all depths; NO3-N PO4-P though not significant (P≥0.05); while EC TDS decreased depths. With exception pH, content, NO3-N, PO4-P, were higher cycles; only second Variation parameters consistent Irrigation improved but posed alkalinity, thus amendment needed
